To all Phenomenal women

To all phenomenal, wonderful, strong, courageous, talented, beautiful women - today is our day Pretty women wonder where my secret lies. I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size But when I start to tell them, They think I'm telling lies.I say, It's in the reach of my arms The span of my hips, The stride of my step, The curl of my lips. Pilates Professional Education Summer 2014

Hello and Happy Summer Can you believe it – the longest day is nearly here and yet the weather has really to get going!! I know from talking with you guys at the courses / workshops that time can be an issue for you in terms of your own personal training [although I do believe we can all find 30minutes per day!] and education So with that in mind I have some fantastic workshops / courses over the summer for you.  Each course takes a Bio mechanical / Scientific approach as well as being based on the wonderful Pilates system – as an open educator we also utilize the wonderful work and research on Fascial Movement, Functional Movement and Core Conditioning provided by subject experts to include but not limited to: Tom Myers, Robert Schleip, Aline Newton, Gray Cook, Stuart McGill, Dianne Lee, Blandine Calais-Germain Check out further  information click here Wishing you well for the summer and hope to see you again soon Namaste Yours in Pilates Joyce

What do we mean by Diet?

When most of us use the word ‘diet’ it is usually a misnomer – because according to the Oxford English Dictionary the actual meaning of the word is The kinds of food that a person, animal, or community habilutally eat  Not our usual meaning of a restriction of food in order to lose or change weight For me personally the idea of this ‘restriction’ gives the word ‘diet’ a negative connotation. In coaching my preference would be ‘food management’ if it was / is part of a health and wellness plan and ‘eating for performance’ if it was/ is part of a sporting performance enhancement plan Either way for a lot of us the world around food can be quite confusing and challenging. Fascia Workshop - Exploration and Expression

I am surely blessed - I get to work at something I am passionate about and in doing so I get to explore and express with some really fantastic people And yesterday [June 7th 2014] was no exception, myself and 16 fellow Pilates Professionals got to explore [all be it only an intro] the wonderful world of Movement and Fascia  We rebounded, rolled, mermaid, beast, crabbed,bridged, crocodile'd and pressed up - just some of the movements and positions we found ourselves in - we joked, laughed, ribbed each other but above all we enjoyed both the company and exploration.  So as per your request - I will put some dates together for the near future so we can explore the wonderful world of Fascia some more  To you all thank you for your company and for your very kind expressions of thanks  Continued success Namaste  Joyce _________________________ Some of your kind expressions Audrey -It was Joyce thank you .
